As we’ve mentioned, part of the proceeds from the 2009 Cabin Fever Shop Hop will be donated to the C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital Congenital Heart Center/Save a Heart program. We would also like to help raise awareness of heart health issues. We’ll have useful information to hand out during the shop hop, but we also wanted to pass on a few links to heart health web sites.

We’re thrilled to present the stores’ variations of the 2009 Cabin Fever Shop Hop quilts!

To fill you in, purchasing the progressive quilt kits is optional. If you decide to join in the fun, each passport holder will be able to buy one kit at each store for $7 per store. You’ll get four fat quarters and complete cutting directions and full-size patterns in each kit. At the end, you’ll have seven yards of fabric and all the patterns for only $49. Without a border, the quilt is a generous throw size.

Remember, it’s not too late to join in the Cabin Fever Shop Hop fun! Passports are $20–so hop on over to your local store and pick one up! If weather is a concern, be sure to ask about the bus!

Without further ado…

An exciting quilt has been planned for the 2009 Cabin Fever Shop Hop. The quilt design features black and white blocks showcasing fantastic and fashionable shoes, hats and purses in 14 Marbleous colors! The quilt is optional, but we think you’ll want to take advantage of the discounted fabric/pattern kits at each store.

Each store’s kit will include:
1 fat quarter of black with white print
1 fat quarter of white with black print
1 fat quarter each of 2 different Robert Kaufman Marbleous colors
Pattern and extremely detailed cutting directions for two blocks
Full-sized patterns for two of the applique designs
Each kit will cost $7.

You’ll get SEVEN yards of fabric for a great price!

Stores will also offer other ideas for what can be done with the fabrics. Since you’ll be collecting fat quarters in the kits, you can choose to something entirely different with the fabrics–who doesn’t love black and white prints and rich marbled colors?!

Later this month, we will post photos of each shop’s quilt of shoes, hats and purses (you see, each of these is different because each store used the Marbleous colors differently!). In the meantime, here is the basic layout of blocks in the quilt. Looks like a quilt artist’s canvas that is ready for your creativity!
