2012 Shop Hop News & Project

Hello friends! We are busy preparing for Shop Hop next month and looking forward to seeing your smiling faces. We wanted to give you more details about this year’s project and give you some general information. Here we go!

What shops are participating?

Guildcrafters, The Stitchery, Linda’s Country Quilts, Mabelena’s, and Monarch Quilts.

When is the Shop Hop?

Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012: 9 a.m to 7 p.m.
Friday, Feb. 10, 2012: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

How much are passports?

$15

Tell us about the Shop Hop project!

We’re doing this year’s project a little differently- instead of all making the same quilt, each shop has been assigned a different quilting technique. Using a common set of fabrics, everyone designed their own quilt to best showcase their featured technique.

During the shop hop, each store will have kits for sale containing fabrics they used in their project, as well as an instructional sheet for their particular technique. These kits are just $5 and contain four different fabrics (1/8 yd each). Take a peek below at the quilts our different stores have put together for you:

Guildcrafters
Technique: Applique

The Stichery
Technique: Curved piecing

Linda’s Country Quilts
Technique: No-waste, flying geese

Monarch
Technique: Easy half-square triangles

Mabelena’s
Technique: English paper piecing

This year the Cabin Fever Shop Hop is benefiting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Please help us support a cure by buying a passport and attending our  annual Shop Hop!

It’s Time to Hop!

We’re excited to announce the 12th Annual Shop Hop Feb. 9-11, 2012. Sponsored by the Cabin Fever Group, we’re hoping you’ll help us Support the Cure. Five stores are joining forces to raise awareness of children in need of our help. Check your store now to find out how to purchase a passport.

Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012: 9 a.m to 7 p.m.

Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

2011 Cabin Fever Shop Hop Winners!

Thank you so much for all the participating quilters.  Many of the passport holders won at one or more of the stores over the three days of hopping during our hourly door prize drawings. Congrats to those winners!

We very much appreciated the many, many generous donations for our men and women in service.  The donations were picked up by the Miracle Foundation and will be sent out to the troops ASAP.  The outstanding number of quilts will be finding their way to Walter Reed and I’m sure will be a great comfort to all that receive them.
